Overview: Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing experienced Special Education Teachers for a full-time role with school districts in the Falls Church, VA area. We are looking for dedicated educators who are committed to enhancing the educational experience for students with special needs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to students’ unique needs.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and related service providers to support students’ academic and social growth.
• Provide direct instructional support to students with disabilities in a variety of settings.
• Monitor, assess, and document students’ progress towards IEP goals and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and make necessary adjustments to IEPs.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of student progress, assessments, and other relevant documentation.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations regarding special education services.
Requirements:
• Valid Virginia teaching license with an endorsement in Special Education.
• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field; Master’s degree is preferred.
• Experience working with students with diverse disabilities and needs.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to design and implement effective instructional strategies.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal special education laws and regulations.
