Special Education Teacher (Work From Home) – VA

We are seeking a dedicated and certified Special Education Teacher to join our team in a fully remote capacity. This role involves delivering course content online, providing instruction, support, and guidance, and managing the learning process to cater to students’ individual needs as outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). The Special Education Teacher will work closely with… students and parents to facilitate learning and ensure compliance with all necessary documentation for serving students with special needs.

Key Responsibilities:
• IEP Implementation:
• Deliver all special education and related services as outlined by the IEP team.
• Communicate effectively with parents and relevant service staff to ensure students receive necessary therapies.
• Develop and maintain compliant IEPs, progress reports, and other state-specific special education documents.
• Lead and facilitate collaborative special education meetings, including annual IEP meetings.
• Utilize available resources to ensure accommodations and modifications, such as assistive technology, supplemental curriculum, and accessible texts.
• Instruction and Inclusion:
• Adapt Stride K12 lessons and assessments to meet IEP specifications.
• Promote the inclusion and success of students in the general education classroom.
• Collect data and work samples to monitor progress toward IEP goals and objectives.
• Document all parent contacts and student interventions.
• Analyze student data to prescribe necessary remediation and enrichment.
• Teaching and Support:
• Provide engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences.
• Personalize learning to meet the needs of all students.
• Demonstrate a commitment to high expectations and the belief that all students can succeed.
• Maintain accurate grade books, ensure academic integrity, make placement and promotion decisions, and alert administrators to student performance concerns.
• Prepare students for standardized tests.
• Establish and maintain positive rapport with families and regularly communicate with students and learning coaches/parents.
• Support learning coaches/parents with curricular and instructional issues and basic troubleshooting in a virtual classroom setting, adhering to academy policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree
• Active Virginia State Special Education teaching license
• Relevant teaching experience
• Ability to pass required background checks
