Position Overview:
• Fully Remote: Work from anywhere
• For the 2024-2025 School Year
• 1099 Contract
• Focus on Students with Various Disabilities
• Detailed Caseload Information Provided During the Interview
Key Responsibilities:
• IEP Development: Design and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs, working closely with parents, school administrators, and other professionals.
• Student Assessment: Use a range of assessment tools to monitor students’ progress and modify teaching strategies as needed.
• Inclusive Learning Environment: Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages student engagement and active participation.
• Collaboration: Work with general education teachers and specialists to ensure effective inclusion and accommodations in mainstream classrooms.
• Diverse Teaching Techniques: Apply a variety of instructional methods and resources to meet the needs of different learning styles and abilities.
• Progress Tracking: Keep detailed records of students’ progress, behaviors, and achievements, and prepare necessary reports.
• Parental Communication: Maintain open communication with parents and guardians to involve them in their child’s educational experience.
• Professional Development: Participate in faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and other relevant activities as required.
Qualifications:
• Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Teaching or Special Education
• Certification: Valid Special Education Teaching Certification in Minnesota
• Experience: Prior experience with students with special needs is preferred
• Commitment: Enthusiasm for ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in special education
• Virtual Experience: Familiarity with virtual teaching environments is preferred
