We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Remote Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) for a full-time contract position. This role is perfect for an experienced educator committed to making a positive impact on students with visual impairments. As a TVI, you will work with a diverse group of students, providing essential instruction and support tailored to their unique needs.
Key… Responsibilities
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with visual impairments.
Provide direct instruction in braille literacy, orientation and mobility, and access to assistive technology.
Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure appropriate accommodations and modifications are made.
Conduct assessments to evaluate students’ educational needs and track their progress.
Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of student progress and services provided.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
Valid Mississippi Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) License.
Experience working with students with visual impairments, including those requiring braille instruction.
Knowledge of best practices in visual impairment education.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
