Requirements:

• Open Availability Monday-Thursday from 2pm-7pm during the Alachua County school months
• Summer Tutoring Open Availability Monday-Thursday from 12pm-6pm; summer hours are flexible and can be discussed.
• No weekends; Required work days are Monday-Thursday, with the first and last Fridays of the month only.
• Minimum 12 hours a week required.
• Must live within Gainesville city limits
• Must have a Bachelors Degree (Education Degree preferred but not required)
• Prior Teaching Experience REQUIRED (in the classroom, tutoring, small group, or one-on-one)
• Reliable Personal Transportation and Reliable Phone and Laptop Access
• Knowledge of Math, Reading (basic phonics knowledge required), and Writing skills up to 5th grade
• Strong knowledge of educational concepts, curriculum development, and lesson planning
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the unique needs of each student
• Excellent Social and Communication Skills
• Preferred but not required: Teacher certification
Responsibilities as a Tutor on our Team:
Your only job is to be an awesome tutor in each session! We’ve got the rest covered!
• Work with students individually to provide tutoring primarily in various elementary level subjects
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to parents or guardians
• Access and use our online portal for inputting student data and lesson notes after each session for parents to track progress
• For each lesson, strategically choose learning activities and skills from our system based on the level and needs of each individual student
• Always maintain an encouraging, positive, and supportive attitude with students and parents
• Always utilize The Fun Tutor tutoring materials, program, and strategies provided to you in training
