Position Overview:
We are currently seeking enthusiastic and qualified individuals to join our pool of part-time, temporary instructors for aeronautics. This position will be on an as-needed basis and offers the opportunity to teach college-level courses in unmanned aircraft systems (drones), both basic and advanced.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach and guide students in aeronautics courses, focusing on unmanned aircraft systems (drones).
Foster student success through engaging and effective instructional methods.
Stay updated with advancements in aviation and educational methodologies.
Participate in curriculum development, program advisory committees, and learning outcomes assessments.
Collaborate with faculty, staff, and administrators to support program development.
Conduct office hours, complete necessary paperwork, and respond to student inquiries in a timely manner.
Be available for assignments during late afternoons, weekends, and evenings as needed.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree with two years of professional experience related to the teaching assignment, OR
Associate’s degree with six years of professional experience related to the teaching assignment, OR
California Community College credential valid for life (if applicable).
Preferred Qualifications:
Effective oral and written communication skills.
FAA Remote Pilot Certification.
Professional experience with unmanned aircraft systems (drones).
FAA Certification as a Basic or Advanced Ground Instructor, or Certified Flight Instructor.
College-level teaching experience.
Awareness and understanding of the diverse needs of community college students.
Additional Requirements:
A valid California driver’s license may be needed for traveling to various locations.
Salary:
$93 per hour (based on lecture hour equivalent).
