Qualifications: – Bachelor’s Degree or higher with valid Georgia teaching certificate. Need to be certified to teach GAA classes. must be highly qualified / certified in High School content area
• Highly qualified to teach class assigned as defined by the Georgia PSC.
• High school experience preferred; understanding of GSE required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders in the virtual instruction program in written and oral form, including electronic media, using positive interpersonal skills.
• Experience with a virtual learning environment preferred.
• Knowledge of instructional best practices for online learning.
• Must complete Online Teaching Orientation Course in Canvas
• 10 hours per week: 2 shifts from either 11am- 4pm or 4pm-9pm

Job Responsibilities:
• Instruct students in subject matter, utilizing various teaching methods such as lecture, demonstration, technology, and other materials to supplement instructional content.
• Promote student engagement in learning by continually assessing student abilities as it relates to desired educational goals, objectives, and outcomes.
• Mentor, build relationships with, and document performance of assigned mentees. Work with student services staff to ensure all needs of learners are met.
• Participate in system and local efforts of professional learning; teachers will utilize and implement skills and best practices obtained in professional learning in the classroom to raise the achievement of students.
• Utilize time effectively; initiate student monitoring tasks when direct instruction is not occurring.
• Effectively manage the behavior of learners to ensure the environment is conducive to the learning process.
• Maintain up-to-date and accurate student grade records and attendance records.
• Ensure continuous communication with parents, both written and oral, to keep them informed of student progress and behavior.
• Participate virtually in faculty and professional meetings, professional learning, and other training working through the site director and/or curriculum director and apply concepts learned in the classroom to increase student learning.
• Meet the performance and behavioral expectations of the Site Director.
• Comply with all FERPA requirements for the virtual environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Site Director
