Job Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic educator to join our innovative charter school team in a hybrid role that combines virtual and onsite teaching. This position is ideal for an educator who thrives in a blended learning environment, with a commitment to inspiring students both online and in person. The candidate will split their time between teaching virtual science courses and leading STEM instruction in our middle school. The successful applicant must hold an Indiana teaching license in science or a related field and be ready to start as soon as possible.
Key Responsibilities:
Virtual Science Instructor (50%)
Deliver engaging virtual science lessons aligned with Indiana state standards for grades 6-8. Act as a Teacher Mentor, supporting students in grades 6-12.
Develop and implement lesson plans, assessments, and interactive virtual labs using digital tools.
Maintain regular communication with students and families, offering support and guidance to foster academic success in a remote learning environment.
Utilize online platforms to track student progress, attendance, and engagement.
Attend virtual staff meetings, professional development, and collaborate with virtual school leadership.
Middle School STEM Instructor (50%)
Teach hands-on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) courses for middle school students, encouraging critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Create and implement STEM curriculum that integrates science, engineering practices, and project-based learning.
Foster a collaborative, inquiry-based learning environment that motivates students to explore real-world challenges and technology applications.
Organize and oversee STEM-related activities, projects, and clubs to enhance student involvement.
Participate in onsite faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and school events.
Qualifications:
Must hold a valid Indiana teaching license in science or a related field.
Experience in both virtual instruction and in-person classroom teaching preferred.
Strong understanding of Indiana state standards for Science and STEM curriculum.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to effectively manage time and balance virtual and onsite teaching responsibilities.
Familiarity with virtual learning platforms such as Zoom, Google Classroom, or Canvas is preferred.
A passion for STEM education and a desire to inspire middle school students.
