Description: Founded in 1863, Saint Mary’s is a residential

Qualifications:
This discussion-based 2-unit course during the January term is
intended to introduce students to the entrepreneurial process in
biotechnology. The course includes topics such as idea generation,
economic viability, business plan formulation, Intellectual
property and/or sources of start-up funding through private and
federal grants.
This course is taught in a hybrid format during
the 2025 January term and meets
remotely on Thursdays from 6:00 – 8:00 pm
and in-person on Saturdays from 9:00 – 1:00 pm.
In addition to teaching, the instructor is expected to hold regular
office hours (a minimum of one hour per week) in order to provide
students with support outside of the classroom.
Candidates must have a Master’s/PhD in Life Sciences or in Business
with 5 years of professional experience in the biotechnology,
medical device and/or pharmaceutical industry. Candidates should
also be familiar with online/hybrid instruction.
This position requires all coursework to be performed in the state
of California.
The salary range for this position is $4,966 – $6,672 (2 units) and
is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the
College and SEIU, Local 1021, available here.
