ADJUNCT FACULTY – PUBLIC SPEAKING, Undergraduate Online University of Northwestern – St. Paul is seeking an Adjunct Faculty member to teach undergraduate online courses in Public Speaking. The position requires a commitment to excellence in teaching and alignment with the university’s mission and strategic goals during the fall, spring, and summer semesters.
Responsibilities:
Facilitate course in… area of focus with a regular and consistent online presence.
Respond to student questions and concerns in a timely manner.
Grade student work in a timely manner.
Successfully complete Best Practices in Online Teaching training modules.
Act as a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ by partnering with colleagues to disciple students and nurture their intellectual and spiritual growth.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Master’s degree required with at least 18 graduate-level credits in the discipline applied to teach.
Bachelor’s degree may meet minimum qualifications for teaching certain technology courses depending upon equivalent experience.
Previous teaching experience with online instruction preferred.
Continually nurture a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and uphold Northwestern’s mission and values.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to integrate Christian worldview into classroom instruction.
Skilled in interacting with a variety of individuals in a professional, courteous, and tactful manner.
Ability to maintain a flexible schedule.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Intermediate to advanced computer proficiency including use of online teaching platform.
Ability to pass a background check upon hire and periodically throughout employment.
Work Environment: The work environment involves working for a suburban, Christian university alongside those with a demonstrated commitment and personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Compensation: Adjunct Faculty pay is $832 per credit. Pay at Northwestern is determined by reviewing a combination of job-related factors.
