This position serves a critical role in instructing English Language Learners (ELLs) as they work to obtain their General Educational Development (GED) certificates.

### Skills
– Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate
– ESL certification
– Proficient in Spanish (fluent speaking, reading, and writing)
– Knowledgeable in literacy programs and adult learner needs
– Strong teaching skills in various settings (one-on-one, small groups, classroom)

### Responsibilities
– Conduct ESL instruction tailored to adult learners through various methods, including classroom, remote, and hybrid formats
– Develop engaging and culturally responsive curriculum and lesson plans
– Utilize diverse teaching strategies to maximize student learning outcomes
– Maintain accurate records of student attendance and timely data entry
– Provide student guidance in learning labs and through online resources
– Motivate and inspire learners to remain engaged and committed to their educational journey
– Assist with outreach initiatives to enroll new English Language Learners in programs
– Support non-ESL students and contribute to creating academic resources
– Assume additional duties as required to fulfill program goals

### Qualifications
– Minimum three years of classroom teaching or case management experience
– Familiarity with adult education principles and testing
– Strong proficiency in literacy skill instruction for diverse learners
– Preferred bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or Language Arts
– Experience working with at-risk populations and knowledge of alternative education is advantageous
– Project management skills for assessment-based student projects is a plus
