We are seeking enthusiastic and adaptable full-time substitute teachers to work with students ranging from PreK to 12th grade. The role will involve working at two locations in… Queens, depending on the needs of the schools.
Rate of Pay: $275 per day, based on previous experience and related education.
Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM; Wednesday from 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Please note that bi-weekly meetings and professional development sessions may occur outside of these hours.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and engage a classroom of 20-25 students, ensuring their retention and participation. Represent our organization positively within the school and contribute to maintaining the school’s culture.
Implement lesson plans prepared by the day school teachers. Collaborate to foster a college-bound atmosphere and support students in enhancing their social-emotional skills and self-awareness.
Communicate effectively with the school community and program director to address any concerns. Provide exceptional customer service with a professional and caring attitude, whether in person, by phone, or via email.
Demonstrate flexibility and adapt to last-minute changes in the daily schedule.
Education And Experience
Bachelor’s degree (minimum).
At least one year of experience working with school-age children in a professional setting.
Commitment to the position through the end of June is essential.
Bilingual fluency in Spanish, Mandarin, Bengali, or English is preferred.
Personal experience with societal barriers is a plus.
Demonstrated Abilities
Proficient in classroom management and working with children.

Takes personal accountability for program outcomes and shows initiative in implementing positive changes when faced with challenges.
