Qualifications
• Valid Michigan Elementary Teacher Certificate.
• Endorsements: English as a Second Language (NS) required
• Experience providing ESL support services to EL students.
• Experience in classroom instruction.
• Ability to manage time and be self-directed.
• High level of confidentiality and professionalism.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with at-risk students.
• Patience in working with diverse populations and language barriers.
• Ability to manage time and work individually.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Duties And Responsibilities
• Instructs ELs to improve English proficiency and supports content instruction.
• Plans effective lessons based on the student’s language proficiency and academic needs.
• Collaborates with teachers and other school staff regarding best practices to support ELs.
• Implements Title III requirements and guidelines.
• Develops and writes annual goals and short-term instructional objectives for students.
• Participates in Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team (MET) and Individualized Education Program
• Team (IEPT) meetings for ELs.
• Works as a team member with instructional staff and parents/ guardians to refer eligible students to
• outside agencies and other community resources.
• Assumes primary responsibility for requisitioning and maintaining equipment and supplies for
• ESL/Bilingual services.
• Assists in planning training for staff and information for parents.
• Serves as a resource to school staff for EL students.
• Work closely with EL paraprofessionals.
• Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
