Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Faculty Development Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in enhancing faculty efficiency and improving the student experience by overseeing the development and support of our faculty members. You will be responsible for creating, coordinating, and evaluating teaching and learning activities, as well as developing and refining training content.

Key Responsibilities

Design and Implementation: Plan and execute scholarly and creative teaching and learning activities, including conducting training needs assessments and developing new training programs.

Program Management: Research and review training topics, evaluate content materials, and make improvement recommendations to enhance faculty training and development.

Support and Coaching: Assist program directors in resolving teacher development issues, and coach faculty on classroom delivery and performance practices.

Evaluation and Assessment: Assess the effectiveness of instructor progress and development initiatives, and develop evaluations and metrics for continuous improvement of faculty development programs.

Continuous Improvement: Review and consult on current programs and practices with faculty development leaders to deliver high-quality instruction and continuously improve faculty development offerings.

Training Delivery: Facilitate new teacher development courses, schedule follow-up sessions with new instructors, and apply best practices in teaching, instructional design, and pedagogical theories.

Record-Keeping and Reporting: Maintain learning records, performance evaluations, and development plans using integrated technology. Deliver routine surveys on onboarding and recommend improvements based on feedback.

Content Creation: Develop and deliver faculty professional development initiatives, including in-service sessions, webinars, scholarly articles, and newsletters. Participate in curriculum review committees as needed.

Additional Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Deep understanding of best practices in higher education faculty development, training methodologies, and cooperative learning techniques.

Experience with faculty certifications, instructional design, and quality improvement methodologies.

Strong communication skills for effectively engaging with campus and corporate management, faculty, and staff.

Proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, distance learning platforms, and learning management systems.

Self-motivated with excellent facilitation skills and the ability to make independent judgments.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in education or a related field.

Secondary Education Teacher Certification or equivalent experience.

Minimum Of Three Years Of Experience Teaching Adult Learners.

Remote work with occasional travel required.

Valid Motor Vehicle Report, background check, and drug screen.
