About the Role:
Are you passionate about supporting deaf and hard-of-hearing students through innovative virtual education? We are looking for a skilled Virtual Teacher of the Deaf to join our team and provide exceptional remote instruction to students in Alabama. This role offers the flexibility of working from anywhere while making a significant impact on students’ learning experiences.
What You’ll Do:
• Virtual Instruction: Deliver engaging and effective online lessons tailored to the needs of deaf and hard-of-hearing students.
• Assessment & Progress Monitoring: Conduct virtual assessments, track student progress, and adjust instructional strategies to meet individual needs.
• IEP Development: Collaborate with parents, students, and educational staff to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
• Collaborate & Communicate: Work with families, school counselors, and other educators to foster a supportive learning environment.
• Resource Utilization: Utilize digital tools and resources to enhance the virtual learning experience.
What We’re Looking For:
• Certification: Must hold a valid Teacher of the Deaf certification in Alabama.
• Experience: Experience working with deaf and hard-of-hearing students, preferably in a virtual setting.
• Skills: Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) and knowledgeable about deaf culture.
• Tech Savvy: Comfortable with online teaching platforms and educational technology.
• Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build strong relationships with students and families remotely.
