Description: To plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program in an elementary or secondary learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.
Responsibilities:
• Teach a combo class of Kinder and 1st grade students.
• Design and implement appropriate instruction of content area(s)/course(s) assigned in accordance with state standards, curriculum, and students’ needs.
• Create a positive educational climate for students to learn in an atmosphere of respect and rapport.
• Create and deliver relevant and rigorous lessons that maximize student engagement and achievement.
• Utilize a variety of teaching practices and methodologies that reflect diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds in order to meet the individual needs of students.
• Observe and evaluate student performance and mastery of standards, monitor student assessment data, and maintain student grades and attendance.
• Manage student behavior in the classroom by utilizing effective classroom management strategies and invoking appropriate disciplinary procedures.
• Communicate with parents and school personnel regarding student progress and encourage parental involvement.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher and FL teaching certification
• 2-year minimum previous experience teaching at the K-5 level
• CDA or FCCPC
• CPR/First Aid
• Level 2 background cleared
