Lecturer – Genetics – (ADJ000392)

The Department of Biology and Biochemistry at the University of
Houston invites applications for an Adjunct Lecturer position. The
successful candidate will be responsible for weekly lectures…
oversee the teaching assistants, direct curriculum &
assessment, and manage the teaching laboratories; give all
lectures, direct curriculum and assessment, coordinate with the
instructor of the section, ensure compliance with statewide core
curriculum requirements. Courses may be taught, face-to-face or
online during the applicable semester. Applicants must have a Ph.D.
in a relevant discipline.

Successful candidates will demonstrate broad training, skills in
contemporary pedagogy and a willingness to contribute to the
development of student success initiatives and undergraduate
programs in the biological sciences. Extensive classroom teaching
experience and experience in writing instruction are required.
Since these courses will be taught online in the fall, formal
training in online instruction is highly desirable. To apply,

Qualifications :

Ph.D. in Life Sciences

Extensive experience with Drosophila genetics

Experience with both classroom and formal laboratory
instruction

Excellent written, oral, and visual communications skills
