Position Overview
We are looking for passionate and skilled Music Instructors to join our team and contribute to our mission of “Encouraging people of all ages and abilities to: Play now. Play for life.” As a Music Instructor, you will provide personalized music instruction to students ranging from age 5 to adult. This role involves conducting regular lessons (typically weekly), preparing lesson… plans, and evaluating student performance through practice sessions and performance opportunities. The position is based at our Coralville location and requires availability on Fridays and Saturdays.
Key Responsibilities
Assess each student’s educational needs and design tailored lesson plans.
Prepare and present course materials, including syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts.
Teach musical techniques using diverse methods and resources.
Prepare students for performances, contests, or assessments.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance and progress.
Communicate effectively with students and their parents, providing positive and constructive feedback.
Collaborate with store personnel to enhance the lesson experience.
Utilize provided learning management tools to track student progress, assign practice tasks, and monitor attendance.
Complete weekly timesheets and comply with training and HR requirements using provided systems.
Stay updated on advancements in music education by reading relevant literature, engaging with colleagues, and participating in professional development.
Qualifications
Required:
At Least Two Years Of Prior Teaching Experience Preferred.
Availability to teach during scheduled hours at the Coralville location.
Strong understanding of music concepts and theory with the ability to communicate effectively with students of all ages.
Desired
College degree in a music-related field or equivalent teaching experience.
