We are seeking an intrinsically motivated and passionate individual to serve as the Online Learning coordinator and liaison for a small cohort of students on IEPs. This position will begin on September 4 , 2024 and end on November 22, 2024. This teaching position requires a person with organizational skills, tutoring ability, and strong communication. Experience with programs such as PEAK, Edgenuity, or other Online programs is a benefit. We look forward to meeting with the right person for these two teams!

POSITION OBJECTIVE:
This position is accountable for assuming the responsibility for delivering high quality instructional experience through creativity, resourcefulness and sound judgment consistent with the curriculum frameworks, standards and the rules and regulations of the Freetown-Lakeville Regional School District.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
PRIMARY is a LOVE of teaching and learning, believing every child can learn,
be collaborative, bring joy and kindness to school each day.

1.Responsible for chairing annual IEP meetings.
2.Responsible for writing and revising IEPs.
3.Serve as liaison for a caseload of Special Education students.
4.Responsible for facilitating academic support class.
5.Responsible for collaborating with content teachers to differentiate curriculum and instruction.
6.Responsible for remaining up to date regarding curriculum content.
7.Responsible for effective planning and assessment of curriculum and instruction.
8.Responsible for mentoring students’ understanding of the curriculum effectively and adjusting instruction, materials, or assessments, when appropriate.
9.Responsible for effective management of the classroom environment.
10.Responsible for effective instruction, which includes making learning goals clear to the students, using appropriate instructional and questioning techniques.
11.Responsible for using innovative approaches, and instructional strategies, including the effective use of technologies, to increase student learning and confidence to learn.
12.Responsible for the promotion of high standards and expectations for student achievement.
13.Responsible for the promotion of equity and appreciation of diversity to ensure equitable opportunities for student earning, including, for implementing specific strategies for students with special needs, andor English language learners.
14.Responsible for providing equal educational and employment opportunities to all individual regardless of race, color, gender, age, religion, gender identity, national origin, marital status, sexual orientation, disability, or homelessness
15.Performance of other job-related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1.Certification- Massachusetts DESE license
2.SEI Endorsement
3.Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university required; Master’s degree preferred

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1.Teaching experience in the Special Education field
2.Certification in Massachusetts DESE license in Special Education Mild to Moderate Disabilities, Grades 5-12
3.Experience teaching students who are English language learners
4.Candidates who are licensed in another state will be considered if they qualify for the temporary license from DESE (must possess the equivalent license from another state and must have documented proof of working under that license for at least three complete school years). Candidates will need to apply for and pay for the DESE license as a condition of employment.

REPORTS TO: School Principal and Director of Student Services

SALARY AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: In accordance with the Freetown-Lakeville Regional School District Educators’ Association contract. Employment is contingent upon job performance, program needs, and funding.
