Qualifications…
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university
Valid Texas teaching certificate with necessary endorsements for the assigned subject/level
ESL Certification required within six months of employment
Special Knowledge/Skills
In-depth knowledge of the assigned subjects
General understanding of curriculum and instruction
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience
At least one year of student teaching or an approved internship
Student Performance
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Implement strategies and activities that boost student performance in the content area and on standardized assessments.
Enhance student success in meeting campus performance objectives tied to Academic Excellence Indicators.
Curriculum Development
Create and execute curriculum plans, showing written evidence of preparation.
Prepare lessons accommodating individual student differences.
Follow Texas Education Agency guidelines, board policies, and administrative regulations.
Instructional Strategies
Use appropriate instructional strategies, activities, materials, and equipment for individual student needs.
Set and communicate high performance expectations for students and acknowledge their achievements.
Collaboration And Communication
Work with special education teachers to adapt curricula for special education students as per Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Attend ARD meetings, prepared to discuss students’ strengths, weaknesses, and abilities.
Maintain positive communication and interaction with students, parents, staff, and the community.
Technology Integration
Utilize technology to enhance the teaching/learning process.
Assist students in analyzing and improving study methods and habits.
