Job Description
We are seeking a passionate Online Didactic Faculty member to join our team. This role requires candidates to be located outside of California and to hold a current California RN License.
As an Online Didactic Faculty, you will facilitate online courses for pre-licensure Workforce Development Programs across multiple states, including California, New Mexico, Arizona, and Nevada. You will directly report to the Regional Associate Dean of Workforce Development and indirectly to the Academic Site Director for your assigned School in a Box location.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver online instruction using established curriculum for assigned classes.
Continuously enhance instructional quality through innovative methodologies and teaching techniques.
Assist in reviewing and revising syllabi and instructional guidelines.
Regularly assess student progress towards curriculum and course objectives, providing timely feedback.
Contribute to strategic planning and assessment of instructional initiatives to ensure program quality.
Maintain accurate student records, including attendance and grades, and support program data collection.
Utilize the Learning Management System (LMS) to deliver and manage course content, ensuring it remains relevant and up-to-date.
Facilitate ongoing communication with students through scheduled office hours, electronic correspondence, and other methods.
Engage in professional development, maintain continuing education hours to renew licensure, and stay updated with institutional changes.
Commit to teaching a diverse and multigenerational student body.
Serve as a subject matter expert for university and accreditation requirements and reporting.
Participate in curriculum and evaluation committees.
Conduct weekly recorded synchronous sessions for courses with unit/final exams via distance modalities (Zoom, MS Teams, WebEx, etc.).
Hold a minimum of four (4) office hours per week.
Analyze and review exams within the assigned course.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Dean of Workforce Development.
Compensation
$1,200 per credit hour
Qualifications
Registered Nurse with current and unencumbered RN licensure, or eligibility, in all states where Workforce Development programs are offered.
RN with current and unencumbered licensure in California.
Eligible for approval by the California Board of Registered Nursing as an instructor in Medical-Surgical, OB, Pediatrics, Mental Health, Community Health, or Geriatrics.
Master’s Degree in Nursing required; Terminal Degree in Nursing (DNP, EdD, PhD) preferred.
Ability to meet faculty requirements set by the California Board of Registered Nursing.
Experience demonstrating current knowledge of nursing practice, mentoring abilities, and effective communication skills.
Previous experience in online pre-licensure nursing education using a Learning Management System (LMS).
Background in educational methodology relevant to teaching assignments, including education theory and practice, current concepts related to subjects taught, and distance education techniques.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Products, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and other necessary MS Office products.
