We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Assistant Instructor to provide instructional and academic support to students. Foster a Positive Learning Community: Create an engaging and supportive online environment that encourages continuous improvement and active learning.
Develop Learning Resources: Utilize text, video, and other technologies to design resources that enhance learner engagement and support course content and skill development.
Facilitate Course Discussions: Lead and contribute to interactive discussions in the online classroom, guiding learners through course material.
Conduct Study Sessions: Plan and host optional weekly collaborative study and review sessions, integrating content learning with effective study strategies.
Evaluate Learning Progress: Assess student understanding through both informal and formal evaluations, using rubrics for discussions and assignments.
Stay Current with Technology: Keep up-to-date with essential tools and technologies, such as Engageli, Outlook, Kaltura, and others.
Maintain Learner Records: Ensure accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and performance.
Work Schedule
This position requires 30-35 hours per week and is fully remote.
Most tasks can be completed asynchronously, with the exception of 2-hour live synchronous sessions that need to be scheduled on weekday evenings or weekend mornings.
Work should be spread over at least 4 days a week, not exceeding 8 hours per day. Some flexibility for night and weekend work is available, but regular availability during business hours for training, team meetings, and learner appointments is required.
Weekend check-ins to the courseroom are expected.
Desired Skills And Experience
Teaching or Tutoring Experience: 1-3 years of experience, preferably in an online or graduate-level setting.
Self-Motivation and Organization: Ability to manage time effectively and stay organized while embracing technological and pedagogical changes.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with faculty, learners, and peers.
Adaptability: Capability to remain calm under pressure, demonstrate strong attention to detail, and provide high-quality customer service.
Educational Theory Knowledge: Understanding of adult learning theories and practices, including collaborative and active learning strategies.
Technological Comfort: Proficiency with technology used for learning facilitation and the ability to adapt to new tools.
Educational Requirements
Master’s Degree: A completed Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution is required.
Certification: Active BCBA or BCBA-D certification is required.
Remote Work Environment
Home Office Setup: You will need to provide your own safe and professional workspace, including high-speed internet, a printer, and a dedicated phone line.
Workspace Requirements: Ensure your home office is free from distractions and conducive to a productive work environment.
Travel: Occasional travel (up to 10%) may be required.
Compensation
Hourly Rate: $17.75 – $27.00, depending on experience and qualifications.
