**Overview:**
Savannah Technical College is seeking a part-time/adjunct Political Science Instructor to teach Political Science courses at our various campus locations. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing lesson plans, evaluating student progress, and maintaining program certification requirements. **Responsibilities:**

• Evaluate students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives
• Assess Political Science students’ learning objectives
• Maintain program certification requirements, as appropriate
• Prepare, maintain, and submit all required documentation and administrative reports in a timely manner
• Maintain knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by completing staff development training, workshops, seminars, and conferences
• Ensure safety and security requirements are met in the classroom area
• Meet with students, staff members, and other educators to discuss instructional programs and other issues impacting the progress of students
• Willing to work shifts that may require split teaching dates, and/or multiple campuses
• *Qualifications:**
• Master’s degree in Political Science; or a Master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours of Political Science Courses from an accredited college or university
• Excellent leadership, human-relations, interpersonal skills, and strong verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated skills in usage of Microsoft Office Suite
• Preference will be given to those candidates who have taught both online and on campus for at least one year at an accredited college/university
• Preference will be given to those candidates who possess working knowledge of Blackboard (course management) and Banner (student information), or similar platforms
• Active participation in appropriate professional/occupational organizations
