The Department

The Department of Business and Public Service offers associate degrees in business administration, criminal justice, sociology, psychology, political science, information technology and baccalaureate degree programs in Management and Administration and Human Services.

The College

Gordon State College has served the community and region continuously since its founding in 1852, and has been a unit in the University System of Georgia since 1972. After more than three decades of serving the state as a residential two-year college, in 2006 Gordon State College was named a state college and has developed a number of baccalaureate degrees to address critical state needs. Gordon State College currently serves approximately 3500 students with the good work of more than 100 full-time faculty.

The Community

The main campus of Gordon State College is in Barnesville, Georgia. Located approximately one hour south of Atlanta, students and faculty enjoy the pleasures of small town living together with access to the many attractions of a major metropolitan center and an international airport.
