Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher to join our remote team. In this full-time role, you will provide virtual instruction and support to students with hearing impairments across Illinois, ensuring they receive the individualized education and resources necessary for their success.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver remote instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, utilizing video conferencing and digital tools.
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs.
• Adapt teaching strategies and materials to accommodate various learning styles and communication preferences.
• Collaborate virtually with classroom teachers, parents, and other professionals to support students’ educational and social development.
• Monitor student progress through remote assessments and provide regular feedback to students, parents, and educational staff.
• Stay current with advancements in remote education technologies and best practices for teaching DHH students.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field.
• Valid Illinois teaching certification with an endorsement in Deaf and Hard of Hearing Education.
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and experience working with DHH students.
• Strong digital communication skills and proficiency with remote teaching tools.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
