Student Worker – Consultant/Tutor – Writing Center
Department of English and Humanities
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Department of English and Humanities is accepting applications for Student Worker – Consultant/Tutors for the Writing Center. Several positions available. The Consultant/Tutor will work one-on-one with students in written and/or spoken discussion to help students develop individualized writing processes, become aware of standards and conventions of academic writing.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
Tutoring experience;
Ability to communicate clearly;
Dependable and punctual;
Professional.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Work with students one-on-one;
Handle day-to-day operations of Writing Center;
Answer phones;
Greet students and faculty who visit the writing center;
Schedule appointments;
Attend staff meetings/trainings.
