We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team and make a meaningful impact in a remote learning environment. As a state-certified teacher, you’ll play a crucial role in delivering tailored course content, providing exceptional instruction and support, and ensuring that each student’s unique needs, as outlined in their Individualized Education Program… (IEP), are met.
Key Responsibilities
Personalized Instruction: Deliver engaging and effective instruction to students with special needs, adapting lessons and assessments as required by their IEPs.
Collaboration: Work closely with students, parents, and related service staff to provide the necessary support and therapies, and facilitate collaborative meetings such as annual IEP reviews.
Compliance: Develop and maintain compliant IEPs, progress reports, and other necessary documentation to meet state and federal requirements.
Adaptation: Use available resources to implement accommodations and modifications, including assistive technology and accessible materials, to support students’ success in the general education setting.
Progress Monitoring: Collect and analyze student data to track progress towards IEP goals, prescribe remediation and enrichment, and ensure each student’s growth and development.
Communication: Establish and maintain positive relationships with families, providing timely updates and support, and addressing any curricular or instructional issues in the virtual classroom.
Learning Experience: Create rich, engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences, and prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests.
Student Success: Maintain academic integrity, make informed placement and promotion decisions, and communicate with administrators regarding student performance and progress.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field
Active State Special Education teaching license
At least six months of student teaching experience
Ability to pass required background checks
Contractors must secure both general and professional liability insurance before starting
This role is offered exclusively as a 1099 independent contractor position. Candidates will need to pass a technical screening, including verifying internet speed and Zoom proficiency, prior to the interview.
