Blazer Jobs is actively seeking an experienced and dedicated Special Education Teacher for a full-time position within school districts in the Lansing, Michigan area. Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
• Certification: Valid Michigan Teaching Certification with an endorsement in Special Education.
• Skills: Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation, excellent communication and collaboration skills, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of each student.
• Provide specialized instruction and support to students with a range of disabilities.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and other professionals to ensure that students receive appropriate accommodations and modifications.
• Assess students’ progress regularly and adjust teaching strategies to meet individual learning goals.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding students’ progress and any concerns.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by local, state, and federal regulations.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education.
Local and State Requirements:
• Must hold a valid Michigan teaching certificate with a special education endorsement (e.g., Learning Disabilities, Emotional Impairments, Autism Spectrum Disorder).
• Completion of a state-approved teacher preparation program in special education.
• Compliance with all Michigan Department of Education certification requirements, including continuing education and professional development.
• Successful completion of a background check and fingerprinting as required by the state of Michigan.
