Preschool Teacher

We are looking for qualified Preschool Teachers to prepare small children for kindergarten by easing them into organized education, and to provide exceptional care to our Preschool program. You will teach them important elements that they will encounter soon before they enter school life.

A Preschool Teacher must have a great love and patience for children. Qualifications needed to teach them… effectively include knowledge of best practices and preschool educational methods as well as the ability to engage them and earn their trust and attention.

The goal is to contribute to the healthy mental, social and emotional development of the child so they can more easily acclimate in the next level of education.

Responsibilities
• Develop a careful and creative program suitable for Preschool children
• Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media etc.) to teach children
• Observe each child to help them improve their emotional and social competencies and build self-esteem
• Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments
• Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers or colors, do crafts etc.)
• Organize nap and snack hours and supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times (Preschool)
• Track children’s progress and report to parents
• Communicate with parents regularly to understand the children’s background and psyche
• Collaborate with other educators
• Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards
• You will be responsible for the health and safety of a maximum of 15 children (Preschool) and 15-30 children with 2-3 teachers in the classroom
• Employee must utilize KidKare & ProCare daily

Requirements
• Proven experience as a Preschool Teacher
• Minimum of 1 year experience as a preschool or school age teacher
• Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
• Excellent communication and instructional skills
• Ability to act as mediator between children
• Cool-tempered, friendly and reliable
• Must have knowledge of Arizona Department of Health Services licensing regulations pertaining to childcare

Mandatory Credentials
• Current State of Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Current Maricopa County Food Handlers Card
• A negative TB test dated within the last year
• Current CPR, AED and First Aid
• High School Diploma
• BS/BA in education or relevant field or CDA Certification or an Early Childhood Workforce Registry Lattice level of C-3 or above (1 of 3 is minimum requirement)

Other Qualifications
• One or more years of experience working as a lead or assistant teacher in a childcare setting
• Two or more years of experience serving a multi-cultural, socially diverse population desired
• Meet annual professional development requirements, per state regulations
• Proficient in using Windows and Apple based computers and tablets

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.50 – $17.50 per hour
