LEGO Afterschool Teaching Assistant Position

Compensation: $20-25 per hour, commensurate with experience
Brooklyn Click and Connect, an after school program located in Ditmas Park, Brooklyn, is hiring a teacher assistant for our after school classes and school break camps, with additional opportunities to assist with birthday parties and school break camps.
As the teacher assistant, you will support second-fourth grade students participation in activities by helping them problem solve, create LEGO builds, and connect with their peers. You will help with materials distribution and organization as well as assist in planning fun and engaging activities. You will also be responsible for walking the students from a local school (within .75 miles) to the storefront location. We are looking for a responsible, reliable, and creative person who has enjoys working with kids.
Job Responsibilities:
• Pick up students from a local school and bring them to the class.
• Provide support to help students with project planning, LEGO building, communication with peers, and problem solving.
• Assist with materials distribution and organization.
• Work with the owner/lead teacher to plan engaging activities and themes.
• Must be available to work on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2:00 PM-6:30 PM
Job Requirements:
• Must be authorized to work in the US
• Experience working with elementary aged children
• Experience/interest in LEGO is a bonus but not required
