Special Education Teacher – Full-Time Role in Allentown, PA

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and parents to support student progress.
• Provide direct instruction and support to students in a resource room or inclusion setting.
• Monitor and report on student progress, adapting teaching methods and materials to meet individual needs.
• Participate in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other school events.
• Stay current with special education laws, policies, and best practices.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following local and state requirements:
• Pennsylvania State Certification: Applicants must hold a valid Pennsylvania Special Education teaching certification.
• Clearances: Must have current PA Child Abuse Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and FBI Fingerprint Background Check.
• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience teaching students with disabilities is highly desired.
• Skills: Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills are essential. Experience with various disabilities and IEP development is required.
